Chia Minaya

  I'm a Filmmaker, Editor, Cinematographer, Photographer, and an overall creative person. I have a Bachelors in Film from Hunter College and an A.S in Video Arts & Technology. 

 

I have worked with, and created videos for many clients such as Donnie Klang (MTV Making the Band), Kevin Farley (Joe Dirt, Eight Crazy Nights), Christian Finnegan (Are we there yet?, VH1 Best week ever), Kwame Smalls (VH1 I love New York, VH1 I love Money 2), Writer Michelle Wendt (Ha!, The Doctors), Big Jay Oakerson (Billion, Inside Amy Schumer, Louie),  Jonny Beauchamp (Stonewall, Penny Dreadful), Amy Hargreaves (Homeland, Blue Ruin, ) and many more.

In 2016, "In Pursuit of a Dream" a short film I directed, about a young Hispanic man trying to make it as an actor while seeking approval from his father, premiered in several film festivals in New York City. Such as “Katra Film Festival” “VIVA! Film Festival” and “Cuny Film Festival.”

In 2019 I released "GIG$," a web series about a homeless and unemployed slacker who is forced to make ends meets. That same year GIG$ was the official selection at the New York Short International Film Festival, New Filmmakers New York, and Aphrodite Film Awards.

 

2020 - 2021 I've kept busy creating visual content for music artists: Flosstradamus & Nonsens, Diablo, and Child Of. I worked as the Director of photography for the upcoming film "Dirt Mouth" set to be released in 2022. I've worked as an Art Assistant on several music videos including Meek Mill feat Lil Uzi Vert "Blue Note 2, J.I "Letter 2 U" and "Excuse My Pain" and Westside Gunn feat. Armani Caesar "Liz Loves Luger" all directed by Kid Art. In 2021 I also worked as the Art Director on Footaction's
"NO1WAY Seeing Black Campaign"

 

In 2022 I'll be working on my first feature film script "Bronx 17."
